船舶での飲料水は主に海水を蒸留した水を使いますが、蒸留水のままで飲料に使用しますと健康を害することがあります。そのため蒸留水を飲料に使用する場合はミネラル分を添加しその上で滅菌を行わなければなりません。また蒸留水は金属腐食をおこしやすいのでニックリ25Sを添加することにより配管の腐食防止が行われます。
